Animals for Life is a humane animal shelter located in Connecticut. We adopt homeless cats and dogs into loving families. Every pet in our care receives a veterinary examination, vaccinations, and is spayed or neutered prior to adoption. If you are interested in adopting a loving pet to add to your family, please call our Adoption Hotline at (203) 267-6777. We have dogs and cats of many ages, sizes, and breeds who are awaiting adoption!
Animals for Life is dedicated to assist in maintaining the well being and quality of life for companion animals in our communities, and to serve as an educational and informational resource for the community.
Focus is on the rescue and adoptive placement of neglected, abused and abandoned companion animals by providing shelter, veterinary care, enrichment, training, proper nutrition, and permanent loving homes. We are committed to the animals we place and continue to be available to provide advice, support, and education after adoption.
Community education concentrates on providing information on responsible pet ownership, the advantages of early training, and the importance of spay and neuter. By partnering with animal professionals we provide support to families who are experiencing difficulties with their pets and to those considering surrendering a companion animal.
Volunteers are one of our most valuable assets. If you would consider giving a small portion of your time towards our fundraising effort, we want to hear from you! AFL will pair you up with an experienced volunteer who can give you some background on Animals for Life and get you started on this very important mission.
AFL is funded entirely through donations of money and gifts-in-kind from individuals and businesses in the community. Every animal rescued has a story and your donation enables us to provide happy endings for many of the homeless animals in our community.
